After more than 10 wonderful years as SS Brow & Beauty, we’re excited to share that our High Street salon is entering a new chapter and becoming part of the MALA family.

Our salon at 11A St Peter’s Street, Canterbury will now be known as:

MALA — Brow. Beauty. Aesthetics. Academy.

Most importantly, we want to reassure all of our clients that we are not closing.

You will still find us in the same location, with the same experienced team, offering the treatments you know and trust.

Why We’re Rebranding

As the business has grown, so has our vision.

With the launch of Mala Beauty Lounge at Fenwick Canterbury, it felt like the right time to bring both salons together under one clear and recognisable name.

While our High Street salon remains the home of brows, beauty treatments, aesthetics, and academy training, Mala Beauty Lounge at Fenwick offers a luxury beauty experience, including nails, beauty treatments, and self-care services in the heart of Canterbury.

Bringing both locations under the MALA name allows us to create one brand that reflects both where we started and where we’re going.

The Story Behind the Name MALA

The name MALA was inspired by Shivani’s mother, someone who has always represented strength, grace, and timeless beauty.

Shivani’s beauty journey began at the age of 15, when she first learned the art of threading, a traditional Indian technique that became the foundation of her career.

Years later, what began with eyebrow threading in a small stockroom in Canterbury grew steadily through trust, dedication, and word of mouth, becoming the business so many clients know today.

MALA reflects that journey — a blend of heritage, expertise, and modern beauty, built with care over more than a decade.
